Gained 10000 Linkedin Followers

How I Gained 10000 LinkedIn Followers In A Few Months

It’s an amazing feeling when you look on the followers’ board and the round figure like 10K strikes it. LinkedIn is one of the biggest professional networks.

No doubt that social media has emerged to be the power source to get more exposure to your business. Whether you run a blog or any other online business, social signals matter.

That was a majestic feeling when I gained 10000 LinkedIn followers.

If someone ordinary like me can achieve such goal then why can’t you? We all have our goals and the best difference occurs in your approach.

The Things You Should Do To Achieve A Social Reputation.

I was asked to reveal my secrets of such a huge following. Well, in this article, you will learn all the actions which are required to be the one on LinkedIn.

#1. Consistency.

It’s not the first time you have heard this word. But what does it actually mean? Have you ever analyzed your activities which can relate to the term “consistency”?

“Success kisses those who know the value of consistency”

Suppose there are two guys trying to impress one girl. The first guy puts his efforts once a month and the other one brings new ideas to impress that girl every single day.

Who would be the prince charming of girl’s heart? Well, no one can deny that shiny face of the first guy.

Think your audience like a girl you want to impress. For millennials, that would be a kind of motivation. Youngsters’ testosterone can give them a push.

#2. Sharing Brings You Glory.

It’s all about how much you share others’ content. You can’t be just a user who is focusing on his/her own content. Your followers need attention from you.

Spread the love with open arms. Use your finger to press the left-click of your mouse to share.

“Sharing is caring”

There is no rocket science to boost your follower’s list without engagement. Like, share, comment to show that you care about your followers.

#3. Write Short Blog Posts.

For bloggers, this is an opportunity to drive traffic to their blog. Sharing your blog posts on LinkedIn can bring you a greater percentage of people than any other platform.

NOTE : Don’t write the same article as you write on your blog.

Twist a little bit to make your LinkedIn users curious and add a Read More link to redirect them to your blog. I really like the notification functionality.

It makes more sense when any of your connections publish and you get a notification. Sometimes, it may be annoying but think about the positive impacts.

#4. Don’t Mismatch LinkedIn With Twitter.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking LinkedIn as same as Twitter. Twitter is a platform where you can tweet in every minute but it wouldn’t work on LinkedIn.

“You’re sharing with the people, not machine”

It’s always said to share your content as much as possible. But it doesn’t mean you bombard with numerous of updates.

You can’t take the risk to annoy your connections. They deserve to be read other’s updates too. From my experience, once in one and half hour works the best.

#5. Interact In LinkedIn Groups.

You would be amazed to know that one LinkedIn group can bring you thousands of visitors in one day.

There are many groups which attain the powerful audience of more than 1 millions users. You can easily find the groups with 200+ K members.

NOTE : Don’t ever violate the group rules. You can get banned within no time.

You can’t share the content about WordPress in a social media marketing group. Read the group guidelines before you share.

#6. Connect With Your Fellow Bloggers, Employees.

It’s always good to start with the people you know in real. Every blogger has a circle which can be gathered on any social media platform.

Most of the people try to engage on Facebook. But I prefer to go with LinkedIn because it brings more exposure than you expect.

Ask your friends to spread your network. Whenever you visit anyone’s LinkedIn profile, you will see the suggested list of the people you can connect with.

I gained 10000 LinkedIn followers due to this one of the focused strategies of mine.

#7. Use Motivational Posts.

People need motivation and you can be that source, no one would stop getting connected with you.

Why do people follow Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and other successful people? It’s because they sense a positive energy in their words.

Why don’t you use your own words to inspire others? I am not a great motivational speaker or anyone related but I know how to keep the harmony with my connections.

#8. The Power of Endorsements Is Indubitable.

This is the first thing I do whenever someone connects with me. I try to endorse for at least three skills.

“First impression should be as killing as you want them to get remembered”

Try to put a positive impact on every people you connect with. Don’t you feel good when someone adds the value to your profile?

Well, use it to leave a sense of gratitude. Everyone loves to get appreciated.

What Did I Learn During My LinkedIn Journey So far?

Sometimes, it’s hard to express the feelings we have. Those flaming boosters in the heart increase the adrenaline level which can turn into a beautiful smile.

#1. It helps me learn more about client dealing.

Whenever I go through my news feed, I find at least one update asking for some help. Just a couple of days ago, someone from the UK had a 503 service temporary unavailable error on her blog.

You can relate to that scary situation when you fear to lose your hard work of last 4 years. She was fretted and one guy from some freelancing website asked her to pay 22 pounds per hours.

She did that but the result was zero. I approached her and she cooperated and the error was due to the size of her web hosting account.

She had 6000+ spam comments which were the culprits. I learned an amazing client dealing lesson.

“Never take anyone for granted. People with good hearts are always there to take it away from you.”

#2. It clears my thoughts.

I have found that LinkedIn is a platform with millions of professional from whom you can learn a lot. You just need to share an update about your doubts and people will share their professional experiences.

Sometimes we all face a dilemma where no clear solution is seen. That’s the time when you need an expert advice. Use LinkedIn.

Though it may even confuse you more if you don’t have the professionals in your network but still, take the positive advice only.

#3. It Saves Me The Cost of Hiring A Social Media Manager.

Due to my busy schedule with the web development and blogging work, I thought to hire a social media manager.

But you know what, when you can build your social presence then what’s the need to hire someone? Become a LinkedIn user and invest all your potential.

#4. It Makes Me Learn The Perfect Utilization of the time.

The day I started using LinkedIn, I wasn’t so worried about the number of followers or anything. I was just visiting different pages without any target.

But I got to learn the fact that LinkedIn is the professional network and I can build my business with its influence.

Well, I am someone successful right now.

“Time is money and you can’t waste it.”

I invest around three hours at all the social media platforms. The reason I gained 10000 LinkedIn followers in a short period of time because of my regular updates.

#5. The Value of Human Bonding.

In this internet world, the most prestigious thing is to build strong bonds with the people you may possibly never meet in person.

Isn’t that strange? Well, showing your gestures is the result you can see in your upcoming career. I implemented this factor on LinkedIn.

I even helped many people for free. Sometimes, you need to look for your future than your current needs.

“A strong human bond is worth than a few pennies.”

Nurture your relationships with your connections.

I Gained 10000 LinkedIn Followers And It Will Continue.

Isn’t that amazing how we start from zero and cross all the hurdles one by one?

I started LinkedIn seriously a few months ago and the result is here. The number has crossed than I expected and it’s still going on.

Do you know the tips for a professional LinkedIn profile?

“If you wish to become a professional, you have to behave like one.”

Do you have any strategy in your mind? Are you utilizing your time efficiently? All these questions can help you to drive to a path where only success is waiting.

I gained 10000 LinkedIn followers and this is a happy moment for all of my fellow bloggers and readers who supported me to chase my goals.

  1. Hi Ravi, what a great storyand advice on using LinkedIn. I have one quick question: How do you find how many followers you have? I use the network but sparingly. I don’t like to post too often as you said it’s not like Twitter ? Thanks for sharing about your success there Ravi and how you went about it. I’ve been interested in writing on that network but wasn’t sure how until I read your piece. Thank you!

    1. Hey Lisa,

After the revamping of the LinkedIn design, you can see your followers right above the posts you have published. Just under “Your articles and activity” if you see your profile. For others, it would be like “Simon’s posts” depending on the name.

Publishing on LinkedIn isn’t same as you do on your blog. Just keep the word limit to 200 so that your LinkedIn followers can have an idea and add a read more button to redirect to your blog for the complete article.

Publish once a day and share your content once in every two hours. I prefer one and a half hour.

      Thanks for your support.

      ~Ravi

Congratulations! I totally get how you would get that many followers, especially with the fabulous content you’re sharing. I don’t spend much time on Linkedin. I do share posts there but that’s about it. I prefer not to hang out where my employer could be snooping on me. ?

  9. Hi Ravi,

    This is inspiring.

I never take LinkedIn so seriously. I just shared my latest post and let it be. Though some years ago, I used to be active on some of the groups but stop after some time.

I guess I did badly then because I focus more on self-promotions than trying to help others.

With what I have learned reading your journey to 10000 followers, I will start working on how to get the best out of my LinkdeIn marketing.

    Thanks for sharing, Ravi.

    1. Hey Shamsudeen,

I have always loved LinkedIn because of how people respond. The best part is that you don’t need to be so active like other platforms. Not so many posts, just keep the pace with your followers and you will be loved.

Consistency is the key to everything.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Good to be back on your wonderful blog today and thanks for these actionable tips.

I am glad to see you after a long time.

We all have our own social media platforms to show presence on. I have a strong one on LinkedIn but neither on Pinterest nor Instagram.

Invest some time and you will have many followers in a few months.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      ~Ravi

  15. HI Ravi,

I’ve used LinkedIn on and off, but like you say… consistency wins the day.

I’m surprised you post comments every 1-1/2 hours or so. I thought only 3 times a day. No wonder I didn’t get much traction ?

Also, you mention how important groups are, but how do you locate the right ones, the best ones. I following some blogging groups but they are basically just people dropping links to their latest blog post, no real conversation.

This was a really great article and has inspired me to work harder on LinkedIn.

    Thanks, my friend.

    -Donna

    1. Hey Donna,

I have always admired the power of LinkedIn because of its professionalism. People don’t let their personal life in between their work and LinkedIn is the biggest network for professionals.

I just try to keep the pace of sharing the content. Rest is dependent on how I manage to interact with others.

You should definitely spend more time.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      ~Ravi

  16. LinkedIn is even more important to B2B marketers than Facebook. LinkedIn is far most the important social network to reach out to business buyers and connect with professionals in general.

You have done a great Job brother. Congrats.
